Children in Worship
young children age 3 - kindergarten. Meets in the CEC wing off the main foyer at 9:50 a.m. The class room is at the top the stairs on the right. Bible stories are vividly brought to life through playful interactions and manipulatives.
.The curriculum follows a worship format that begins to prepare them for the worship service.
Wee Worship in the Climbing Room
This is a preschool alternative to Sunday morning worship in the sanctuary, and begins at 11:00 a.m. Children are always welcome to join in worship with their families, for we believe worship is for the whole family of God and is enhanced when children of all ages are among us. There is a kid-friendly space in the back of the sanctuary for children to worship with quiet toys to help them focus. However, often our youngest prefer a place just for them with age appropriate activities, stories and free play. Wee Worship provides an enriching alternative.
Front Door Sunday School children (Grades 1-5)
The Front Door is our dynamic Sunday School Program for children 1st - 5th grade. Our goal is summarized with scripture taken from Ephesians 2:19 - 22 “Building a heart where God is quite at home”.
At LCPC, Christian education for elementary ages embraces the Workshop Rotation Model. Children employ a variety of learning styles in weekly workshop designed to showcase the stories. Some favorite workshops include the game room, the workshop, the drama room and the kitchen. Each experience from the workshops help the children draw personal meaning from the theme.
Trust Radically is the theme for 2009 - '10. Radical trust is a firm reliance upon God and his enduring grace and love. The act of trust is one that must be learned and encountered. The stories featured this year in Front Door will share with our children lessons on trust.
