Service Groups
Board of Deacons
This office requires ordination. It is, first of all an office of sympathy, witness and service. The duty of deacons is to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress. The deacons are elected and installed by the congregation. The board meets the second Tuesday of the month, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Room.
Parish Nurse
This group addresses wellness issues. Health-care professionals who are members of the church, as well as guest speakers present lectures on current health matters. Blood pressure is monitored periodically.
Church in Society Ministry
This ministry has been established by the Session to oversee local and world mission efforts. The group performs research on mission needs and makes recommendations to the Session. Meets the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
Roots and Shoots
A multi-generational small group focusing on the environment and connected with the Jane Goodall Institute.
