Youth
Our goal with our youth is to build a personal relationship with Christ through worship, study, service and fellowship.   Together we experience the real world and seek to discover more about our faith and understnding of Christ.

Lyndhurst Community Presbyterian Church
Mid High Sunday School  -  grade 6 - 8.
Meets in Bloomfield Hall at 9:50 a.m.  The class is designed to explore issues of our faith in an open learning style that focuses on discussion and hands on activities. See Sunday School Calendar.

Senior High Sunday School
Senior High Sunday School  -  grade 9 - 12.  Meets in the Montage Room 3rd floor of the main church building at 9:50 a.m.  Students investigate how their faith intersects with current events.  Using scripture and lively discussion students are encouraged to apply their “God knowledge” to everyday situations.

Youth Fellowship
Youth group is a vital part of the LCPC congreation.  Generally the group meets on a weekly basis in the Fellowship to spend time together.  There is lots of great conversation as well as fun and games. Together we seek to find out what our relationship in God isl about.  Often the youth particpate in service projects, service to the church  or other outings.  The youth conprise a key part of the LCPC congregation both in worship and out.  See our monthly youth calendar

Confirmation Class
This class for or middle high students and gides them on a process ofgrowth and discovery.  Beginning in late September the group meets on a regular basis on Sunday afternoons.  Each confirmand is assigned an adult mentor to guide the young person through the confirmation process. We focus on building relationships with mentors, with one another and with Christ, while  exploring our faith and the work of the church.

Peace Jam Group
Peace Jam is an international education program built around leading Nobel Peace Prize Laureates who work personally with youth to pass on the spirit, skills and wisdom they embody.  LCPC embraces the Peace Jam learning process by completing the Laureate case study, engating in a community project and attending the Great Lakes Peace Jam Conference in the spring.

Service as Ordained Officers
Every year two members of the youth group are nominated to serve on the two church boards, one on the Board of Deacons and the other on the Session. These are elective offices, and require ordination and installation by the congregation. The youths serve for one year only. The experience exposes them to the principles and processes of church governance and its ministry, and to the venerability and dignity associated with these offices.

Mission Trip
A mission trip in the summer is an integral part of LCPC’s Christian Education program for both mid and senior highs, where they gain hands-on experience. In addition to engaging in some recreational activities, the group tackles a variety of service and mission-based projects. When they return, they present a worship service, where they share their experiences with the congregation.   At the top is a photo from the 2009 Toronto (homeless service & experience) trip.  BE SURE TO WATCH THE YOUTUBE SLIDE SHOW (UPPER RIGHT).  Below are photos from past trips:
